My heart starts freaking out as my feet approach the steep drop in the path. It can't be walkable - a ninety-degree angle. A sunset-orange colour flows from beneath the starry clouds around it. The crystal dust has formed humanoid shadows below. Many are wearing masks - some over their eyes, others over their mouths to create uncanny expressions.

Something pushes me over the edge. Next thing I know, I'm stumbling down the angled path, tripping more over my own feet than from a lack of gravity. The feathered being catches me as the path levels out. Or at least I think it does; it disappears the moment I'm steady.

Looking up, I see all the apparitions staring at me, even in their play.

‘Walk on. They may continue to stare, like the serpent, Duality, before. Or they may turn on us. We will never know; nor does it matter. What matters is what you do.’

“Alright, alright… I get it.”

Not like I have a choice, since it keeps controlling me.

I get up and continue, edging past them.

“How long will this ‘journey’ take?”

‘We will be in Entropy before long. As for the rest of our journey, that will also depend on you.’

(Can’t it talk any God-damn sense?)
